Easy peasy, can't get lost.
The rock garden you mention between Trona and Wingate.....Is it super technical or could a solo, semi-noob on a big bike make it across? I'll be coming up from Jawbone through Trona and was hoping to link up some more dirt on the way in. I'm definitley gonna skip the Mengel shit for now but curious about this first section.

You'll have the option to go to a quieter place when you're done hanging out, maybe.

Something like this on the back side of Escape heading towards Trona. If you do go, be sure to let someone at camp know when you should be there, where there's a will there's a way.... Rescue Party!

Site 79, done.

I am so embarrassed at how comfy I'm going to be...

So I'll probably make my supply run tonight or tomorrow night. Any requests for stuff?

I rode my 2007 R1200GSA fully loaded through it five years ago but was very nervous on some of the steep downhills as I rode it solo. Assuming you are on a 990, it will be easier than it was for me on the BMW.

Since I made it on my GS, a few years later I took my buddy on his GS but while going down the one steep down hill, he had his rear tire locked up and it hit a big rock and threw him off the bike. The GS landed upside down off the side of the trail and it took both of us to right it and get it back on the trail.

On 650cc and smaller dual sport bikes it is much easier. There is also some loose deep sand to ride through.

The rock garden is at the bottom of the trail on the east side and is level ground.

If riding solo, which I don't recommend, everything depends on your skill level and if you are able to get your bike back on the trail should you find yourself upside down off a steep hill.

I love riding in Death Valley but prefer to do it on my 500EXC with a 5 gallon fuel tank. For me, that is a great setup.

Here is a video I shot a while ago while on this trail:
