It was the Shell station and grocery store, and yes, it's gone

Not the James store and gas station, the shell was over by the park along the river

Those tears sure are delicious. They add a nice minerality to the coffee, too. Yum.

Anybody happen to know if the road from Johnsondale to Cal Hot Springs (M-50 / Parker Pass?) is open this year?

Never done that one, but would like to include it in a saturday loop one way or the other.

Also, any good lunch stops over on that western slope? Glennville, Woody, ...

I guess there was an issue with my recent kernville tracks, I reloaded them for anyone that wants to check them out.

That whole little strip of businesses with the Shell station next to the river is gone, unfortunately.

A few teaser photos from last week for you lucky fools heading up there, I will know tomorrow if going in for surgery.

Last week the sign saying it was closed at johnsonville 21 miles ahead was up, with the warm temps who knows maybe you'll get lucky.
There were a few gates still closed and there was some snow @ 6000' in shaded areas, but snowfall was very low this year in the area and things are opening early compared to last year, according to Bobby the Ranger.
Should be great for you guys.

As this will be the first time I will be riding a dirtbike in Death Valley, I have a noobish question: What sort of fuel range do I need? I'm *probably* going to be riding a bike that I am planning to buy on Thursday evening (a 250 EXC 2-smoker) and will most likely buy the 4.2 gallon IMS tank on my way to WARPED. I figure it won't be too hard to swap tanks in camp.

Thanks Finn

Also thanks for the trail maintenance

Great pics as always

Sorry to hear about your crash. Hope the recovery goes smooth and fast

I guess karma really is a fickle bitch to throw the skid demon at you after a selfless act of volunteerism. Bummer

BTW - Heal up and all that. I know you were impressed by Long's attitude but you didn't have to replicate it that closely.
