I can post a picture tonite, but basically what you do is drill a small (3/16") hole through the metal buckles and through the fender, then slip a wire tie through the holes and cinch it down/cut off the excess zip tie..

Cool, Thanks I think I got it now, but pics are always helpful. Do you do both sides ( 4 tie straps ) ?

I did four---(the new Moose fender pack I bought after losing the prior one came with the brackets already pre-drilled, all I had to do was drill the fender to match up).

I just do the rear two straps. I don't drill the buckle, but just use the existing slot the strap goes thru. Just line up the pack, mark the fender, remove and drill a couple holes for the small zip ties.

Always keep an eye on the straps, especially when wet.

the bag straps still do their same job, I just dremeled two slots on the fender to run a strap thru with a Fastex buckle to hold the bag to the fender.

I'm driving 2 of us with a 5x8 trailer and need to park it and my 4Runner in Moab for 3 days. I'm sure others are in the same boat. Has anybody made any arrangements for this? Inmates? Arrowhead Moto ?

Good place to get some group synergy. Perhaps a small fee if needed or the dreaded "I owe you one"...

Since it's a free for all the 3rd day I was planning on one or two minor detours. The one trail I hoped to ride is the Waterfall Trail. It starts right near the 2nd night's camping area and runs about 12mi. For those of you who are up for it, you might be able to throw the excess gear in the truck and come along a little less loaded.

The trail's a classic, you may have heard the story of the airlifted CB175.

Waterfall Tr.

It's def technical, no harder than the Kokopelli but I wouldn't classify it as "kick your ass" unless you're riding a CB175

Try calling the the camp ground out by the road to canyon lands just before town. I think they will let you park there for a few bucks. I think it's called arch view.

Yes I'm familiar with they call the "boneyard" at Arch View Resort: it is $1 per night to park your rig even if you don't stay there. But we were planning on hoteling or camping in town and was just hoping for an inmate's house or pasture or general area of some sort in town to make meeting at the Moab Diner for breakfast easier (I'm not a morning person! )
