Thanks everybody for a fantastic weekend. I posted some photos on FB which everybody should be able to view and download

Thanks a ton to Ben and his family for the support. Thanks especially to YOU Ben for putting together a huge adventure for us to go out there and accomplish. I absolutely loved every minute of it.

After Green River, Tomas led Dave and I on a brilliant route back via CG trail, Orange trail, Enduro trail, some bottomless sandy nameless trail with endless whoops to Rainbow Rocks - all totally brilliant. Thanks Tomas - that was a highlight!

Tomas took Hwy 313 into town and Dave and I finished it off down past Gemini Bridges. We made it into Moab about 7:45pm and over to Zax about 8:30pm but missed the pizza/beer crew.

Just catching up on this thread, and it is just one of those epic, gorgeous rides! It's unfortunate (or fortunate, actually) that 99.9% of the American population will never see what you guys are riding through. At least, that's what I tell my friends and family that ask, "Why do you go there?" They wouldn't understand, unless you've been there. Looking forward to tomorrow's adventures

501mi.

Thanks Ben for putting up with the crew, you and your family really made this a memorable event. For me this was truly an epic adventure ride, we were witness to some of the Southwest's most amazing scenery, the ride definitely lived up to it's name.

Great trip everyone, it was a lot of fun and some amazing country we rode through. I know the whole family really enjoyed you guys and thanks for being so appreciative. With such a great group it was not a problem.

I'll post up the pics I have soon

Gotta lay down so you don't fall to far, when you get light headed.

Teaser Vid

Here's a quick vid to get started off. Since it's DS riding I'll be speeding it up sometimes to keep it interesting.

What a treat! Ben & family - thanks so much for organizing this ride. It was my first big group ride...and will be tough to top ;)

This is my second post here on advrider. My first was to say "I'm in".

New to motos, Lynda & I come from an MTB background. Signing up for this trip was fuel for a lot of homework, including a Shane Watts skills camp. That payed off on day 1. Other than a cold blooded KTM, we made it through relatively issue free - I had a flat in White Wash on day 3, but fortunately am running tubeless so it was as fast as fixing an MTB flat.

Our bikes.
Our steeds: XT225 & KTM 350

Top of Hurrah Pass.
About 17 of us left at once from Moab and headed towards Hurrah pass and parts beyond...

The Needles district was both beautiful and difficult. I'm pretty sure Ben earned a month of free beers on Bobby's hole...we always knew when things were getting rough ahead when we caught the fast moving Blanding bound group.
Shit got real in the Needles district.

We got surprised by this bottomless sucker sandpit amidst fast hardpack.
The most hazardous spot day 2: about 120 miles in, sandwiched between sections of 50+ mph hardpack was a bottomless sand pit.

Just before Hite.
Just before Hite.

The Dragon in Black Dragon Wash is red.
The Black Dragon is red.

Black Dragon Wash.
Black dragon wash.

Day 3 I was lucky to do a good bit of extracurricular riding. First detour was with Tomas and Howard on the Orange trail - thanks Ben & crew for waiting for us. After Green river our "slow" group went into trail seeking mode with Tomas leading the final 3 over parts of the Enduro loop, Rainbow Rocks, nameless sand whoops, and finally an easy cruise back into town via Gemini Bridges.

So much learned, drinking from the firehose one must take big gulps.
