Ouch! 1,000 apologies, Bobzilla. How ever did I forget the awesome Silver and Keystone states!

I also left out New Hampsha.

List has been corrected ...

Four weeks? You be living the dream, MRED ...

And I assume by your craft that your butts will be well-seated.

Tony; I am just Livin' the Dream.
Just in from a quick 220 mile ride with my wife. She is starting to bond with her new bike, get fast again.
Our group is all from Oregon, specifically: Albany, Bend, Corvallis, Eugene and Klamath Falls.
We can take 4 weeks because 2 are retired, 1 only works tax season, 1 has unused leave and I am Livin' the Dream.
All the bikes have custom seats made by Mr. Ed's Moto in Albany, Oregon.

She sounds like an awesome gal, Don! I assume that's her on your website pic, in front of the Teton Range in Wyo., with the BMW? And hey ... looking at mredsmoto.com, it's great to see handmade craftsmanship like that made on this side of the Pacific.

Hope I get to meet you both this coming season ...

Hey Mike ... A PM reply is on its way.

Here's a link to a Q&A about the route.

Here's a link to the online photo album depicting the route.

And yes, we can indeed shorten it for you to accommodate your timing. That's much of the beauty of this grand loop!

Ghosts of the Wild West

All along Heart of the West Adventure Route are vestiges of America's Old West ... ghost towns, an old one-room schoolhouse, a forlorn stagecoach station, the ruins of a Pony Express and Overland Stage station, a stone fortification ...

While some are being restored to new lives, most of these windows on bygone America are disappearing. Experience them this season ... before they're lost forever ...

Support vehicle

DolphinJohn, if you don't mind me answering here your question regarding the practicality of a support vehicle ...

A pickup or SUV to haul fuel, water, coolers, camping gear etc. is a terrific idea! In fact, a couple of other groups who will be traveling the route this season will be doing just that.

This is a multi-mode route, ideal for both off-highway-capable motorcycles and cages. The route has no single-track sections, although there are a few rough segments, and segments that are subject to substantial storm erosion.

A couple of years ago I led a German motorcycle tour company -- including four-time Paris-Dakar finisher Eddy Hau -- on much of the route, using a support SUV and trailer, shown below:

In fact, the route grew out of my many years chronicling Western backroads in Toyota SUVs for my adventure-motoring guidebooks, and magazines like Road & Track's Open Road, National Geographic Adventure, Mercedes Momentum and others.

Additional proof ...

But this is a motorcycling forum, and the rules advise against four-wheeled content. So lest I get banned ...

That's great!

A great way to let the girls tag along, and gives us more flexibility with fuel, letting us see all of the side trips without fear of running out of gas.

Nightly massages wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Massages ... funny you should mention that, DolphinJohn.

Two riding couples that I'm developing a custom ADV route for have requested that I include days' end accommodations that will provide just that for their women folk, though they assure me these women are tough as nails.

Almost hate to say it ... but oh my heck, I'm finding that such places are out there!

Well, in my case, my masseuse will be driving the support truck.
