Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. I'd put a bit over 32,000 miles on the bike in the two years I had it, and it was running better than ever. Finally got it broken in.

This is why I ride as far as possible to the left when the car in front is turning right and someone in oncoming traffic is waiting to turn left. It makes me visible to the left turner much earlier.

I do the same. I try to be very much situationally aware, and constantly try to do the best I can to both see and be seen. In this case it didn't help. Thanks for trying to teach a lesson though. Much appreciated.
