Frijole, thanks for that but I think I'll see my son off to school and probably hit the road around 8am Paducah-time. It's about 2-2.5hr to Nashville, so I'll just catch up with everyone there.

Unless there are folks west of me coming through....

Just saw this, haven't been lurking that much since I moved to Knoxville for a new job, even though I got a new bike.

Was thinking of hitting Tellico Motorcycle Outfitters one weekend anyway. Might have to pack up stuff and take a little trip Saturday to visit the inmate's asylum. Be a good road test of the new little red bike, too.

I'll probably leave Wed. after work and make it almost half way to Tellico that night.

After 1300 miles, rain, snow and 16 degree weather I am in the neighborhood of Tellico Plains. Time to sit down and relax before arriving tomorrow.

My daughter & I hiked Trail 81 today from North to South and back. Cut up 6 or 7 blow downs. Two were such that they blocked the trail 100%. Small bikes could have been lifted with a group. They were a deal breaker for large bikes. Besides cutting up blow down, we removed debris, and trimmed branches/vines. By walking, instead of riding thru, we were able to remove much more debris. When you're tooling along on the TW200, you get lazy and pass up some smaller stuff.

The trail is in fantastic shape right now. The only thing it needs is nobby tires to grind the leaves into the trail.

Remember on Trail 81, the South end is higher elevation. The North end is lower elevation. If you like riding a trail for the first time going up hill, enter on FS23/McFarland to the North Trail head. There are several steep slopes.

Tom Coppinger and Mike Gray took care of Trail 82 the other day.

Heading to the shower & then going to hit the booze. I'm sore.

Thanks guys!

Thumbs down Trail maps?

MMM rookie here, are there any trail maps online that I could print out? If not, I"ll probably just follow the group. Leaving at 4:30am with the Pittsburgh group (drunks), hoping to make a late afternoon ride, just put a nice trials tire on the 530

National Geographic map 781 Cherokee NF Tellico Distric.

Visitors Center, book store, art gallery next to me, Katz Deli, and the Ranger Station. The FS roads are white and the MC Trails are Purple. Tom or I will hilite loops for you if you bring in a map. I think they have route handouts at the rally too.

ratthing,
Try to get over Fri PM or Sat. Most will leave out on Sunday, some early, especially if the rains are predicted for later in the day.
