Hi John,

Same issue; I am looking at replacing cell phone, net book, camera and GPS with a single tablet computer perched in the map pocket of my tank bag. Most tank bag map pockets won't take standard 10.1 inch tablet.

Try Samsungs 8.9 or 7.7 inch tablets or one of the plethora of 7.0 inch tablets (if you don't already have one).

My preference is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 as it can double as a cell phone (most tablets with a cell connection only do data, not voice, over the cell network).

Touratechs's tank bags would fit my iPad in the map pouch with room to spare.

Yep, my full sized iPad Gen 4 fits in my SW-Moto tank bag map case.

Looks good in the house, but daylight makes it pretty hard to read on the bike. Also, my iPhone used to overheat and shut off when running under the clear plastic on a hot sunny day. Not much ventilation in there so watch that. I like having it handy there and it allows me to charge it with the electrification kit inside the tankbag. There is even a "port" in the bottom of the case to pass the power cord.

This is a pic of the map case on Twisted Throttle site: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/bags-...-lock-tankbags

I Have a galaxy tablet, measures 7.7 or 9 corner to corner.
so the window has to be able to house this tablet which is about 1 in. tall with outer box on backside
would be nice to see some pics of fellow inmates set ups.
mine would be used for dual sport on a XRL

John,

I have a standard KTM tank bag with a 'not quite square' transparent zipped map pocket. Judging by the previous posters this particular map pocket may be a little smaller than some of the other aftermarket bags.

It doesn't fit an A4 map in the pocket without folding it and does not fit a 10.1 inch tablet. It does fit Samsung 8.9 inch tablet (just) and comfortably fits a Samsung 7.7 inch tablet (my personal choice of tablet).

Aaaaahh, tablets the Adv Riders new best friend. The aforementioned Samsung 7.7 inch Galaxy Tab replaces a phone, GPS, netbook and camera saving 4.5kgs of weight and all the cables and chargers that go with them!

Have no experience with this bag, but the price is reasonable, and it's specifically designed for the iPad.. Looks pretty sharp.

I have never tried it but I'm certain my Ortlieb tank bag could fit my iPad. It is waterproof too.
