That video is awesome. I love people that just wanna have fun on a MC. I like in Lake Elsinore it used to have a fun spirit in the 70s and then after the revival also. When it ran thru the town down the streets there was always a few folks like the pig farmer in the bib overalls or people with blow up dolls strapped to their back, side cars, all kinds of fun stuff....it always ends up with people getting too serious. Especially after they moved the track to the MX park....no fun now.

So the Scramtster is going to need something in the way of foot pegs that are a tad less "slippery when wet" than the stock rubber wrapped deals. What to do, what to do? Wait....I know..... I can pillage my old pit bike since it isn't being ridden. Sorry little feller but I need yer' parts....


Started with pegs that looked like this. Note the big spring spacer on the pegs....That's got to go.





I also need to grind down the stops.



A little off here, a little smoother there and....





Several test fits and a bit more sanding and I have some real ,honest to goodness dirt-bike foot pegs.




Not sprung but they will fold up in a get off.

Not sprung is not the worst thing, as long as they are not loose and can flop up easily. If your buzzin down a trail and hit a bump or hole and your feet come off the pegs and the pegs flop up, when you come down and there is not peg for your foot to land on....you get the gift of a broken ankle as it hits the ground at speed and rips back, under the bike....

If they take a bit of pressure to flip them up, then that is ok.

I re-used the friction spacer from the stock pegs. you physically have to fold them up and down. No amount of vibes will make them move.....which is good on an solid mount Sportster.

Given my track record I am sure that I can find some other way to severely injure myself though.

Yeah with that friction washer you should be fine.

Is that a Storz tracker rear hub in the picture? Last I checked, the supplier that Storz had making these for them went out of business, so you couldn't get them new from Storz.

As far as I know it is a factory HD part. I love the Storz parts but unless I rob a bank they are a bit out of budget. Unless you know of a bank giving money away....Please tell me you know of a bank giving away money.
