Awesome how the roads in the area change so much sooo, in such a short time. I have been there in the rainy season too, but in January the roads were bone dry! Mil Amores and surrounded areas are my favorite places in Guatemala to R&R. (Ride and Relax)

Couple photos from the Chuchumatane area. Glad we took the time to go check it out.

We were up there Thursday. We went up as far as where the road turned to concrete with switchbacks climbing well over 10'000 feet. I was really satisfied with the riding and scenery. I imagine many riders blow right on by on the CA-1 and miss it altogether. All that is needed is one extra day to pop up there and back eh. We did 110km's in, then retraced our way back thru Chiantla- Huehuetenango. We plan to stop in Antigua later , after visiting Xela.

Arriving in Guatemala City saturday Feb 16

Hola;
My buddy and I are going to arrive in Guatemala City Saturday, Feb 16th. We are looking for some help in locating a moto friendly hotel/motel near Bavaia Motors. My GSA needs the 6000 mile service. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

This place http://www.lastorreshotel.com/home2.htm is just a few blocks away from Bavaria Motors ; restaurants etc. is in walking distance and the price aprox.$30.00 is very reasonable for this part of the city .
Save parking and free wifi

We will be another week or two. I will contact when we arrive there. That's a generous offer.
