AMA Roadside Assistance
Received an application to join the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association) and receive free roadside assistance!
Anyone have experience in this realm? Apparently just provide your credit card info and your AMA membership will be automatically renewed annually along with the roadside coverage for a fee of 49.00 per year. Sounds pretty good? |

Been a member for many years and have always had the Moto-Tow (what it used to be called) which you had to pay extra for. Now it is included in annually renewed memberships and is a bargain. Better service than AAA and motorcycle preferred. Covers everything you own and drive or tow, cars, trucks, motorcycles and trailers. Anyone in your family is covered too, good deal for family's.
Excellent deal...................

Well it's cheap but there are some issues. One they only tow 35 miles free. I've heard that you can get hit with other fees by providers. Heck if it's free then why not if I'm paying I think there are better choices.

Only used it a few times. Once for fuel delivery, once a lock out and once for a flat tire repair (wife) and all I (we) had to do was show our membership card. If anyone is getting charged additional fees from a service provider it had to be extra tow mileage, extra fuel amounts or something not covered. If you are charged by a service provider for something covered then I'd report it and pretty safe to assume they would be removed from the authorized provider list.

I renewed for the same service tow reason. Also, their magazine has evolved into a very good read in the last year or so. For example, this month has a very interesting feature on Jon-Erik Burleson, president of KTM USA. You might recall, he is the son of legendary off-road racer, Dick Burleson. Lots of interesting insite into KTM's recent success both on the sales floor and in motocross competition.
Lastly I like that the AMA is a good lobbying organization attempting to protect our pastime.

Been a member of AMA for a long time, and have their roadside assistance plan. I saw something the other day though that said something like trailers are covered, but not utility trailers. Anybody else seen that?

I had a car towed this year. No issues. Worked great.
