Fan Shroud
'12 F800gs 4500 miles, fan shroud fell off and melted on the header pipes. Dont want to lose the bike to warranty claim for a few days and $15.00 in parts. So i will just buy them.

Mine came loose. Replace the nut-with-a-built-in-washer with a nyloc nut. No more problems.

Mine ended up on the header as well, made a mess. Took a couple days for the plastic to burn off the pipes.

Mine came off too on a f800gs. First I thought that the dealer forgot to put it back on but after reading this... well luckely it fell on the (I think) so radiator is still intact.

Seems like it is a slightly common issue. I talked to the dealer yesterday and they will replace it. The nut has supersceded so maybe it is a lock nut of type. I will report when i get it.
Mine made quite a mess as well. But I have my remus header porcelain coated so it just flaked off as soon as it cooled. |
