Another New Guy - Duluth MN
Hey guys/ladies,
I just wanted to introduce myself since I am new here and recently joined the adventure club. I have been riding for many years now and just traded my 2008 KTM Super Duke for a 2012 Adventure. I have only ridden it 150 miles before we got snow and I put it in my friends garage for the winter. I'm not new to KTM's, but the Adventure is definitely different and I'm really looking forward to adding fun accessories, learning more about the bike and what people like to do to them, and then stacking the miles on next year. Until then, I plan to spend a bunch of evenings on here chatting with all of you about the machines we know and love and then we can hopefully ride together some day. The old machine: ![]() My new love:

Welcome.
You live in the heart of supreme dual sport country. Lucky you. Check out the central region for some really great local events. CADVR is a must. ![]() Wisconsin also has a pretty damn capable orange crush asylum to rely on for expertise and parts.

Thanks! I was just looking through both of those areas and it made me very anxious for spring to come. I have explored a lot of the paved roads in the area for many years, but there are 20x more dirt/forest roads and trails that I have never seen, so it was time to make a change in machine.

Better yet, take a road trip...and the money you've saved over to Craigs place (CJ designs) in Wisconsin.

Thanks Craig! I have been admiring your products for many months now, so maybe I will have to save up a few extra dollars and go pick up the stuff personally. I'm sure you have a list of items that would look and work great on a brand new Adventure.
I will certainly let you know as the spring arrives Quote:

"KTM-- who makes that?": someone asked me that exact question at a gas station in Laramie one time.
It was a struggle to be diplomatic. Sam, you live in a really appealing place-- I've always wanted to ride up the North Shore toward Grand Marais. Been to The Last Place on Earth, though. ![]() Nice ride-- enjoy it. Welcome aboard.

Thanks Guys, I'm pumped to finally have another dirt friendly bike and now I don't have to compromise highway ability either.
I have people all the time ask me who makes KTM, so I figured it was fitting. If anyone tries to guess, the most common answer is Kawasaki.... Why? Because it has a K in it?! So I might have to buy the sticker that spells out KTM's abbreviations and has a map of Austria on it. But it's funny to talk to those people I hope to meet up with many KTM Adv guys in the area once spring comes
