NW rider down in El Salvador

I wasn't sure if anyone in the PNW had seen or was following this RR with two riders from the Northwest... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=837596

They are currently in Ahuachapan, El Salvador where Ed Zachtamundo (Justin) was hit by a truck while passing through an intersection.

Justin is alive and kicking but could use some assistance from the ADV community.

Ouch! Does he have a compound fracture of the femur just above the knee joint? Ouch-ouch-ouch!

I'll send a donation to his PayPal account... set it up!

After a couple of the accidents I've read about on ADV, here in the PNW and down South, I picked up a SPOT II, and got the SAR option. If I were traveling internationally for any length of time I'd also pick up the GEOS Medivac service. It's only $129/year, and is cheap insurance for incidents like the one described in this thread.

I looked on ADV and couldn't find an FAQ about motorcycle trekking, with things like minimal toolsets, health insurance and medivac info, etc. Anyone know how we start one?

Feeling good, and it looks like I'll be home in time for Christmas, no problemo. Mario is gonna give me a crate from his shipment of Husabergs arriving this week so we can ship my paperweight back home in it- what a guy!

And to everyone else who donated- THANK YOU! I can't express how much that money will help, and how much it lifted my spirits to see the donations pour in and read the notes you guys left. It's enough to make a guy blush.
