Most of the folks I hung with lived in the NW/Cypress area. You'll find Houston can be regional, in the sense no one wants to cross town to visit, they'd prefer meeting up somewhere outside the urban area. If i had to go to Katy, fer instance, it'd be a round-about trip through Montgomery and Waller counties. ![]() From where you're at, ride out FM 1485 from New Caney or north on FM 2100 from Huffman. They meet and change designation in a sweeping curve. At the south end of that curve, Plum Grove road branches off. Take it, watch for the not-so well marked 90 degree turns, and then follow FM 1010 (hang a right) to the backside of Cleveland. That's about as good as it gets on your side of town. Sorry.

Hi.
I just joined ADV yesterday. Live near you, in Summerwood subdivision, think 2:00 on Beltway 8. Interestingly (to me anyway) I am in California this week. Palm springs. getting my Tiger this weekend, an early Christmas present from my wife! |

Live in the Woodlands area but like to ride all over. The National Forest area is a lot of fun.
Give me a shout. I can show you what I have found so far. Hey Nchristie, I just got my Tiger mid October from my wife. You are going to love that bike. Thumpxr |

Hello! I'm in Cypress. NW of Houston on 290.
There are alot of dirt roads around Richards and Shiro, also Bellville. Don't forget the Sam Houston National Forest. It has single track trails and dirt roads. We ought to get a ride together.

I'm in Atascocita. My bike is more street oriented at the moment, but after taking a hilariously fun ride down a gravel road last week, I'm going to get it setup to be a bit more ADV ready.

We need to plan a first ride soon! Maybe a breakin/meet and greet dirt road ride up around the forest.

Seriously, I dont do this often, have you tried letting some air out of your tires when riding dirt? Try about 18 PSI fnt/rear. carry a little bycle pump with you to pump back up for the highway ride home.
