Newb in FAR North Texas looking Rides/Riders

So I'm diving head first in to the world of adventure riding. I live in Sherman Texas near the Oklahoma border. I'm buying 1200GSA and wanting to put that bad boy to work. All my background is in sport bikes with some trial riding. I'm an avid backpacker/camper so ideally I would love to do some trips in to the wilderness somewhere and just get lost for several days, but a trip of that nature is a little ways off.

In the mean time I'd love to meet up for some rides and meet some of you guys on here.. I'm open for on/offroad stuff, day rides or overnight trips on the weekends. If anyone here has some organized rides in the area, meaning Southern Oklahoma or North Texas, please let me know. I did a search but didn't turn up too much. Please don't let me end up just riding this thing to Starbucks . Thanks guys, JP

We're headed to SE OK this weekend to camp and ride forest roads. Probably won't get into anything that the GSA can't do.

I'm just down in Collinsville.

Damn these sound awesome. I'm not getting the bike until Saturday afternoon unfortunately. I but next time you guys get out I'm definitely in.

Zach: you have a post detailing your ride? Is this a semi-regular thing you got going on?

This will only be our second time up there, but we'll go quite often as it's a huge area to explore and not too far from home.
