Beta dualsport???

Pretty old thread that one, needs to be a new one since they aren't using the KTM engine anymore.

I just played with their BYOB thing on their website yesterday. How freaking cool is that, build a fully custom bike suited to you? $12,000 later I had built the perfect bike in concept.

Do they offer a bigger tank?

Stock is only 2gal thats not much inthe dessert
10k$$+ is kinda pricey(for me )

Yep, 3.8 gallon tank was an option on the BYOB page.

MotoXotica in Vacaville has a used 2012 and a couple of new ones in the $8500-$9,000 range.

I haven't seen Dan in awhile, I think I'll stop by and check out the bikes tomorrow.

The used to be ktm&husky dealer
Is now beta gasgas dealer about
one mile away but i've been broke
way too long

Maybe 2013 will be better

They don't have anything in front of the
shop but may have to stop in.

Is this the first year with a beta motor?

I'm not sure, I've just started to look at the brand. I think 2010 was the first year for the Beta engine...or last year for the KTM engine? Right in there somewhere.

Went and looked at them yesterday, I have found my next victim/dualsport.

I can't seem to find the transmission ratios anywhere? Dan at MotoXotica describes it as not a close ratio six speed like the TE510, but not as wide as a TE610 both of which I've ridden, so that gives me an idea of what to expect.

I really like that a cush hub is an option for the rear wheel as I don't know what kind of clutch basket it has, Dan thinks it's a solid basket.

Stoked to see a high performance bike with a good old FCR carb on it.

Hmmm, might have to sell some bikes and scrape some cash together.

Come to Caliente this spring for the Nevada 200 trail ride and Casey will let you ride one.

Looks like 2.58, 1.87, 1.47, 1.20, 1.00 and 0.86 so a spread of 3.00. My TE630 has a spread of 3.40 and my TXC449 has a spread of 2.49 so the Beta looks to be right in the middle.

Edit; Is the 498 RR the same as the 520 RS? I don't see a breakdown for the RS bikes.

39mm FCR.

I hate fuel pumps and fuel injection.

I got 60 mpg on my 610 with the FCR.
