Moose Run AMA dual sport - August 3-5th, Walden Colorado
It's official. The date for this year's AMA dual sport will be August 3-5th. We have reserved the fairgrounds in Walden. I will be laying out the A/B loops again. Expect a lot of single track. The C-loop will be suitable for big bikes and cover a lot of scenic territory.

sounds cool. thanks for helping on this.
same weekend as RMAR http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736276 but it looks like moose run is more for those on plated dirtbikes riding single track and rmar is for those riding longer adv rides on dirt roads so there is a nice distinction between the 2. will be a busy weekend for dirt riding for all

Based on feedback from last year, we won't be doing a band at the fairgrounds. Instead, we'll probably set up a projector and play some movies indoors, and have a campfire outdoors.

![]() It was great last year! Think I'll camp instead of motel-ing it, though. The 'bar scene' in Walden ain't what it used to be when I lived there

I enjoyed the Moose Run last year, rode 1100 miles to get there, was very happy with the C loop, hope to make it up there again, will use a different motel tho.....
Here's a pic with our intrepid ride leader....

Maps would be great! We did prizes last year for longest distance traveled, oldest bike, etc.

I have a tough assignment for someone.
I need someone to layout and manage the C-loops. I have maps for a preliminary route that will suffice for permitting. I need someone to review these loops and modify as they see fit. When things melt out, this person(s) needs to prerun the routes to create route sheets. On the day of the event, they need to coordinate ride leaders or sweep riders for the C-loops. The idea of the C-loop is to be big bike friendly, cover a fair number of miles, and offer a fun experience for those involved. NYPUM is a 501c3 organization. Any miles you put on your bike to prepare and hold this event are fully tax deductible. Our previous C-loops helpers can't make the commitment this year, which puts us in a bit of a bind. Someone familiar with North Park & Snowy Range area and GIS would be a big benefit, but we can train anyone who is capable of following a map.
