The 650R is a seriously diverse bike. It can win the Baja1000.....or it can take its rider to the ends of the earth....especially when properly equipped.

But I am in your same place, Brian.......

I want a big KTM in the worst way. I am also a big guy.....6'4", 260lbs. The Pig is a great bike for me, but I want more.....

I have my eyes set on the 2009-2010 990 ADV "R". I must have the "R".....its suspension is very appealing.....ever better than the 950 Super Enduro (yeah, look it up).

Gotta have a 990R!!!!!!

..........

I see the OP got the TE, great bike!

I thought this was fitting though, since most of the discussion was XRR vs KTM. Here is a ride we just got back from, both a KTM 950 SE and a XRR.

Th BRP was awesome..but I lusted for something lighter and more agile. The 950R, and the Enduro were both heavier than the XR, and more maintenance. The EXC500 was interesting,... but I couldnt justify the price.

I think the Husky motors are based on the RFS KTM motor but with their refinements. Which is a great motor.
