690R 2012/13 2nd and 3rd gear restriction?

690R has a power restriction in 2nd and 3rd gear to meet noise regs. Under normal conditions this system isn't working but if you wack the throttle open anywhere between 26 and 38 mph the throttle opening is restricted for 20-30% and crippling the engine. Do I hear somebody say wheelies?...

On models 2008-2011 you have yellow/green and blue/red, green wires.

Thing is, they have switched colors on the 690R 2012. I have:

Yellow/Brown
Green/Black
White.

Anyone that has completed this mod on the new 690R 2012-13?

I don't think the 2nd-3rd gear restrictor is used on the enduro model...

From what I can find on the web...the Euro models have the 2-3 gear restrictor...USA models do not...
Try it and see if you can tell the difference..most posts say there isn't much if any...
Can't help with the color change...maybe there is a 2012 wiring schematic available to help...

My 2012 has the Y/Br, Green/Bk, W on the top of the plug, but has the Y/Green, Bl/R, Green on the bottom.

Cheers,

Looking at the left side of the bike you will see a bunch of wires coming out of the top of the front sprocket cover. Follow them up to the area where the throttle body connects to the cylinder head. You will see a black junction. There are three wires coming out of the top of that junction. They are colored grey, black/green and yellow/brown. There are three wires going into the bottom of that junction colored light green, yellow/green and blue/red. Unplug the yellow/green and the blue/red wires. The light green one is required for the neutral light. The other two tell the computer the gear position.
