Sounds like a good ride for the hack. Can't keep up with the Urals though

I'll have to work on some chains/cables too.

I was thinking just lashing straps around the tires would help tons, since the fabric sticks to the snow. I have a bunch of them I use for changing tires, will have to give that a shot.

They are only quick until it gets deep enough they high center

Note about the chains: depending on the bike, swingarm clearance can be an issue. If a chain was to slip side to side at all it could really tear up your chain or swingarm quickly so make sure if you build them they can't move.. even when dumping horsepower into them.

Yeah - and I only have 1 WD. I'll have to stick a winch on it

Goog points on the chains - thanks.

2013 Elephant Ride Feb. 9-10

I talked to Don up at Grant hotel, and it's going to be as tradition goes the second full weekend in Feb so Feb 9th is the campout, and the ride is on the 10th.

Fill up the cabins, and we can have the whole front parking lot to use for the ride.

We can also have the old pond bed to have the camfire, so bring some wood if you can and we can leave what's leftover for them and next year.

More details soon, I'm thinking of bringing this, well if woody's cool with it?

See ya up there.

See y'all on the 9th

I'd imagine the snow on Guanella is getting deeper after this week?

I got a room . This will be my first one so be gentle . The 10th is our 47th anniversary so my wife will be along . It will depend on the weather if she rides or not . Sounds like a fun time .

I camped in a tent in 2009 when you slept in your truck Tim.
this year I'm sleeping in the Sprinter with my Espar Diesel Heater set for 60 degrees

Ed,
I remember that, it was a double bagger kind of night. I'll probably "camp" in the truck, which is colder than the tent.

I'm going to try and bid it off, maybe I will be able to make it. When is super bowl? if I work that weekend, then maybe I can get the 9th off.
