My XR is ready took 250 screws per tire . Took it to Dead Lake today to try out the screws . They work great , can't wait to try them on the 10th . What better way to celebrate my 47th wedding anniversary ?

hmmm what bike to bring, no screws in either...I'm not sure I'll mess with the chains either this year...maybe I'll just go naked

Did that last year, the KLR got very heavy.

This brings up a question I've had floating around in the back of my head...

Are there any regulations regarding riding on frozen lakes? Obviously I wouldn't do it on a lake with a bunch of ice fishermen or in a populated area. But I've always wondered if the man has any rules about it.

pretty much, no motor vehicles on frozen lakes in Colorado.

I would of never guessed that. In Michigan its fair game. My cousins boyfriend almost sent his pickup through their lake...LOL Only deal is, your insurance is no good when you drive out onto the ice.

Do you mean no vehicles on frozen lakes on public lands? There are a few ice races in the state (both MC and cars).

I know for ice fishing that the DOW doesn't allow it. However some places do, like Georgetown, but only during sactioned events. So not sure what the law allows.

I did the Georgetown Races years ago. The only requirements were to have a radiator overflow reservoir and a battery tie down. A helmet for yourself

I'm in. Missed it last year, but this will be #6ish. Never made it past the first gate. They quit plowing the road the first year I went...

) The kitchen pass is being negotiated. Probably take the apartment on wheels (small) Unless I get a better offer, like a trip to Copper Canyon or Moab, or the Tail of the Dragon. I get those offers all the time, you know.
