Another Photo Essay

Team Winston was finally back on the track at Taupo

Adrian & I discussing the finer points of something

Lets put it into practice

Those 32 mm carbs needed a fair bit of tuning so Saturday was spent sorting jetting with the help of a Triumph guru who was pitted next door

Sunday & we were good to go, had a great dice with a Laverda as I've already mentioned. Between his box full of neutrals & suspect swingarm bushes & my high rev miss we were pretty even

last lap was close but no cigar

Eye Candy

Seriously quick Trident side car

Seriously rough but also quick & well prepared, looks can be decieving

It's running a standard motor , ' yeah right '

This runs at the pointy end of post classics

Says it all really

The lengths some people will go to to avoid helping to pack up

Bike is now ready for the Classic Festival at Hampton Downs

I think Vinces Guzzi revcounter is understating whats been spent on that....
Last time I saw it was at the BS and I don't think he did many races, looks like 4 races last season. Like a lot of the fast bikes, fast and fragile.

here is the times.

best I have done on the long track is 2:09.

Best I got was a 2:12. The motor is starting to free up & feels good, I need to sort the high rev miss. I need to get balls . I know I can go under 2:10.
A year off has made me very rusty.

Great photos, the main reason I go to races is to watch and listen to these old beauties being run!

Classic Festival

The usual suspects were rounded up

Since Taupo the previous weekend I had been pretty busy , Retorqued the head but did not have time to do anything else so the miss was still a problem.
First practice on Friday exposed another wee issue . ' Old Tight Arse ' had reused the nyloc the secures the clutch basket just once to often, no, probably 10 times too often. The whole shooting box came loose, rebuilt the clutch , nothing loctite could not fix, ready for Saturday

Good to go

Before you ask , that petrol tap leaks , it glassed into the tank so the fix is not that simple, will have to fit a second tap

Sid [ Adrian ] diced all weekend with a standard but well ridden Beemer

Volty hunted Harleys

Trustme chased a top end miss

Sometimes others got in the way

Some riders need lists to remind them of simple shit. by the end of the weekend that list resembled Tolstoy's War & Peace :

Beware the lurking Photog

Numnumnum

We all went round & round , nothing broke , no one fell off, what more could you ask for, .............. except for a Pazon ignition which I'm about to order.

Unfortunately the camera died so not so many photos this time

Sure was a good weekend. Watching you with your Triumph has been right handy the last two nights in the shed, got Mr T120v head off and motor turning over right nice. Makes a change from checking tyre pressures.

There are a few bits & pieces in the shed like a wiring loom that might be handy. If you are going deeper there are timing gear pullers etc & a Haynes manual you can borrow. Don't need it anymore , I know it inside out & back to front.
My nightmares are the Haynes Triumph manual
