Loaded my bike in a trailer to be dropped off in Shawnee, OK today! I'm considering hanging around CO with you if I feel like time isn't too tight.

It wouldn't hurt and they are cheap. I did put one in mine but I can't remember what led me to do it.

I normally create maps for upload to the unit in Mapsource. It tells you how much memory you have and how much you have used when you add each map tile.

In addition to memory limitations the 60's have a limit of about 1000?? tiles. This isn't a problem with City Navigator since there are only 1 to a few tiles per state. It gets to be an issue with the Topo maps that have a lot of small tiles.

Still No Gas in Denio

Rolled through Denio yesterday, still no gas. I asked the lady running the place if they would ever have it again and she said maybe a month, then asked if we needed some. She said she has gas at her house so if you're desperate you might ask, she seemed willing to help out.

Fields does have gas but they close at 5pm so plan accordingly

Have a great trip man, We spoke about riding the first leg of the TAT together, but obviously you're on the road and I'm not able to.

I have not heard of any fires that would cause any problems for TAT riders. Hope that does not change. We leave in 6 days.

What is the riding like after la beta in Colorado? I think it's around milemarker 110. I had to run up to Colorado Springs and am wondering if I would miss much if I jumped back on the trail around 180.

From CO Spgs take Gold Camp Road to Cripple Creek and make your way over to the TAT from there. It's all good. Won't miss much of the TAT. Coming into Salida from the north on the CDT is a great ride. County Road 53 to County Road 175.

You will miss a nice ride thru the mountains east of Westcliff. Most of the ride from Wescliff to 50 isn't that great. The route zizzags thru a lot of ranch roads seemingly just to avoid pavement.

I thought the ride between Trinidad and La Veta was a little lame. Just seemed like county roads thru fancy private homes as best I remember.

Don't skip the ride mentioned above - the loop north of 50 out of Cotopaxi (sp?) and back down to Salida.

It's good stuff for sure. You could take Phantom Canyon south from Victor, take 50 west to Cotopaxi and get back on the TAT if you want to spend some time riding. Either way is

Hey guys we are starting the TAT on friday and I was wondering if anyone has experience with leaving a truck at the trail head for a day or 2. Anyone ever done this? We will be having a buddy come down from Cincinnati to pick the truck up on saturday or sunday but we are planning to start a day or 2 before.
