Kozubnik - fallen luxury communist resort

Not far, nice ambience... I've heard so much about it, found many facts of the most prestigious communist resort in Poland. Kozubnik.

Basically it was independent village. With two huge power generators, own water source and petrol station, it could survive a catastrophe. This resort was most luxurious holiday place in 70's.

This unbelievable place was famous of its activities: 3 swimming pools, restaurants, sauna, wellness, tennis, ski lift and bowling. Notice that it was built in early 70's in communist country!

Today Kozubnik is quite popular among paintball enthusiasts and tourists.

The resort is located in beautiful valley.

Only a ruins remain after the luxury...

I felt a little overwhelmed...

Here was a hotel reception. Probably...

Looks sadly...

It seems to be amphiteater or what...

This building was the highest in Kozubnik:

"What had happened here???"

A nightmare as a lesson to be learnt.

When active, it would be a paradise.

Now it seems to be paradise lost...

Former brook turned into stenchy slop.

Kozubnik is a good example of communism residues in Poland: it's ugly, unnecessary and it makes a trouble. In fact, it's still part of a history.

It looks creepy and a fun place to paintball. I would want to explore that place for days.

Thank you for posting your photos and story. I love to see old, mostly forgotten buildings slowly being overtaken by nature. The land around them does look beautiful, easy to see why it was a resort. Thanks for taking us along with you!

Very cool, I've always found old abandoned architecture fascinating. It makes you appreciate just how temporary we really are. Thank you for sharing!
