thanks, Steven

Go to Uship.com, fill in the blanks, a picture of the bike and see what quotes you are given.
Moved to RF: PNW. The ASK BALDY forum relates to site related questions.

Maybe someone would ride it out there for you if you paid travel expenses and airfare back home.

Good one, not sure if a bmw xchallange is the utlimate cross country bike, but thanks for the over. I haven't bought the bike, I am just trying to figure out how much it would cost to bring it over. Uship might be an option, I prefer to work with some small shipper that now and then does a trip to Florida. Thanks, Steven

I have used Federal in the past and they did a decent job. Looks like they are now part of Allied systems - http://www.uship.com/profile/FederalMotorcycles/

+1 on Federal. Handled shipping two bikes for me this summer. ATL to Seattle. Not a single hitch in the whole shebang. I think I wound up paying around 600 per bike.

another + 1 for Federal. www.funtransport.com
I paid about 800 bucks in July to get a bike from Panama City, Florida to Fife, Wa. They were a little later than they had estimated but overall not a bad experience. |

I've sent stuff WAY more valuable and almost as large as a motorcycle with Uship. It takes a little work finding your courier but the guy who showed up for the pickup here in Oregon and delivered in person to upstate New York delivered perfectly. Everyone was happy.

Uship.com is how the small shippers are finding their loads. It's not a shipping company, it's a web-site where individuals list stuff they want move and individual truckers and small trucking companies use to bid for that work.

Trust me, that idea is something I might do myself, just not in Januari. Maybe I'll buy the bike, have somebody store it and I'll pick it up in the spring. So far i got one over, 850 dollar, seems a bit much, but I am Dutch, so everything seems a bit much!
Thanks everybody for the tips! Steven
