This is interesting news. I pre-ordered a set from Revzilla and they were supposed to ship early this month. I was wondering why they haven't shipped yet. If this is true, that would be a bummer. I will call them this weekend and see what they have to say.

I'm also now keen on the seeing what the new Michelin Anakee Wild's are all about

That looks like a great 60/40 tire and Michelin probably know what they're doing. It's about time. Hope they're not too much $$.

Looks like the tire wars are heating up!

I wonder if the Karoo 3 had anything to do with the death of the journo at the Sth African launch of the new 1200GSA?

Last I saw, the BMW press release said "Ve see nussink, ve hear nussink....."

From the Michelin catalogue I get only two sizes, a webside 'Motomag.com' confirmes that:

Front 120/70 R 19 M/C 60V TL/TT
Rear 170/60 R 17 M/C 72V TL/TT

Seems like they aim the new 12GSLC. There has to be more to come (I hope so since it's announced to be 50/50

Well, I ended up cancelling my order for the Karoo 3. Revzilla could not give me a time frame for when they would be available. Metzeler is keeping things very "tight lipped".

I inquired about the Michelin Wild and they said that they had only heard of it and have not been contacted by Michelin about it...yet.

Unless things change quickly, it looks like I'll have to go the TKC 80 or Mitas E-07 route.

I had the chance to talk to someone who was there and knew the full story. It had nothing to do with the tires or the bike.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the new Anakee Wild looks kind of similar to the earliest iteration of the Karoo?
If I remember correctly it used the same staggered block pattern...

Interesting. They aren't doing themselves any favours by keeping quiet. You hear "new bike" and "dead journo" in reference to a release and it generally doesn't fill me with confidence.

I bailed on purchasing the older 1200 after placing an order because of availability issues. I wouldn't even think of looking at the new one with all the shit that's gone down.

For a premium brand they need to seriously go back to basics.

And the new Karoos....for what the older ones cost here, and how long they last...not an option.
