Battery tender ?

Is it possible to hook up a battery tender to the power socket on
the dash or is there a diode that won't let voltage back in the system?

Thanks

In case the battery is low, it could be too much for the power socket wiring.

I do not know if the fuses would protect the wiring harness from overcharge.
Cheers.

Have used a Deltron batt. tender on all my bikes for years with no problem. 07 990 and 06 950 Adv's both plugged into dash (adapters for this are avail) ! Never a problem and battery always charged! I just leave the bikes plugged in all winter "unless I'm riding them!

Been doing it since day one.

Never a problem, works just fine.

Still on the original batt.

I have a BMW battery tender for maintaining the gel battery in my 04 R1150R Rockster. Any idea if I can use the BMW tender on my 07 990 Adventure?

FWIW - I have verified that a BMW battery tender (black metal case w/ 2 LEDs) made for gel batteries (my R1150R) will work on an '07 KTM 990 Adv, and that it will charge when connected to the socket on the dash of my KTM.
