Alert! Stolen Subaru Wagon in Seattle! 446-ZLH

I was at a party last night in Fremont, (36th and Fremont ave N) and when I left the party around 2am my wagon was missing!!!

Maroon 1990 legacy L 5spd, has an aftermarket rack on it, cargo area full of all my tools!!

this is the only pic I have of it, before roof rack and I have removed the hubcaps...
the roof rack is just some gutter mount bars, with a rope tied between the front and rear bar. it also has part of a bicycle front wheel mount rusted on the front rail. I have the "wink" 5 panel mirror installed too.. that's about all for identifying features.

license plate is
446-ZLH

I had a full tank of gas too, so bastards could be anywhere within 300 mile range of Seattle...

if found or sighted please call me at 206-856-7797
or, the police.

Do you have full coverage insurance?

nope on the full coverage. I have a cheap old subaru (only cost me 600 bucks to buy the car) for a reason- and I did not want to be spending as much every year on the car to insure it fully, so I kept only the min. required on there...
nor do I have renters insurance. I know, I know.. bad move on my part..

If that's all you paid for the car then you made the right decision.
The hard part will be finding another car for $600.

Not yet...

I am starting to wonder how much time I should give this before giving up? Dropping the measly insurance I pay on it (in favor of increasing the insurance coverage on the bike ,which is all I have left)

or, keep hope that it will turn up somewhere... although at this point, its either been damaged, stripped, or ticketed (because I know that the police are not gonna do their job right and check to see if it's stolen while it's racking up like 12 parking tickets somewhere)

so frustrating.

A friend of mine's Honda Accord was stolen in Seattle a while back, and turned up three weeks later parked in front of a police station. Short of some cigarette damage to the upholstery it was fine. So you never know...

This is why I don't have high hopes that they are actually giving any sort of shit about finding it for me after I reported it. it's probably parked somewhere, in plain sight, just waiting.

You should call each county police dept between Seattle and PDX. Cars get stolen here and found there all the time, same with the reverse. People are basically borrowing the car to get somewhere then dont want to gas it up....

Once he reports it stolen, it will come up as stolen nationwide if the plate or VIN is ran by the police. Useless to cal every police dept.

I know thats how its supposed to work, but I have had 2 rigs stolen
and recovered them myself from impound departments.
The cops never called me. ! I had to call them
and get them to look up my vehicle, which they did and they
instantly gave me the impound location. They do so many a day it
takes weeks for them to find you and by then you owe
thousands to the impound lot. I had a scooter stolen
and they charged 125 a day for storage, took the police 2
weeks to notify me... Kinda turns you upside down on the value...

So rather than let them spend my money I called 2 county
offices and found my car... Which I still had to pay 200 bucks to get back.

The system can suck at times....

What if the vehicle is towed from a private parking lot that a tow company has a contract to tow from, is the tow company obligated to notify the police with the plate and VIN number?
