Help with buying decision

Got to choose between :
2009 G650GS original owner, only 550 miles. Really like new. Has service records , original sale papers etc.
2009 F650GS original owner, 10K miles. Factory lowered suspension, has service records. Talked to dealer the bike was bought from as well as serviced they have all the records on file.

On both bikes there is room to negotiate but I sense that there won't be more than 600-800 differential in favor of F650GS. Am not sure about lowered suspension although there are lots of folks riding lowered F650S. I test rode F650GS one with low seat & one with lowered suspension. Haven't sat on a G650GS though. I am 135 lbs & 5'3'' aka shorty pants. I am thinking lowered suspension shouldn't pose a problem but never know.

I am not a new rider used to ride NinjaEX500 for few years , sold that & now want to get back on one. Plan is to take at least one long distance trip a year as well as day rides here and there but no daily commuting though. Dream trip is to go to Alaska.

Just be honest with your self as to the amount of true single track you will be riding. If it's minimal, go with the "F". If you are truly going to ride single track, then the "G" is the way to go. The "F" is great on tarmac, quite good on gravel, and good two up riding.

I've had a "G", but it was called an "F" then , and now have an "F". The 800 is a much better bike all round, unless you want to do serious single track. I'm 5'7" and can flat foot the 800.

Yeah no single track or heavy duty off roading except gravel, fire roads that kind of stuff.

In that case you'll be very happy with the F650GS(which is an 800cc bike).
