Day ride (off-road) near LA ?
I've got a day or two to spend in/near LA, and am really hoping to spend it off road !
I've found the following possibilities: - http://www.admotours.com/ - http://www.letsatv.com/ - http://funtimeatv.com/ Would appreciate hearing from fellow inmates re their recommendations ! Thanks. |

I'd go with ADMO in Wrightwood. Depending on when you come it could be snow, but you could trailer the bike down to the desert in half an hour or so. It's still darn cold down there right now though.
If it's not snow you could ride from Wrightwood to Lytle Creek and have a fair good time tooling around there trying to get lost. You could even then cross the 15 freeway and go play up Cleghorn. See if they have plated bikes, if not you will be taking a chance in some places with just a green sticker.

Went with AdMo (http://www.admotours.com), and had a great time riding at El Mirage OHV (<2 hrs north of LA) !
Russell (our guide) knew the area well, took us wherever we wanted to go, and the bikes were well tuned. Was our first time in the desert, and it was fantastic ! Surprisingly diverse terrain; looser sand on the main trails, great traction off to the side (twisting through the sage brush), plenty of rocks of all sorts and sizes (with hills big and small everywhere), and a dry lake bed to rip about on ! Thumbs up to AdMo, Russell and El Mirage OHV ! |

There are those here that will tell you CNF is horrible. Please believe them and do not post such killer pics. 5600 feet of elevation a few miles from my doorstep just absolutely sucks, and I refuse to ride it more than a few times a week.
