I know many people think of folks from the south as often like these folks, but I am here to tell you they are everywhere.

While many people think of NYers as rude and fast moving, Californiaians as snobbish and pius, northwest folks as tree huggers and hippies and southern folk as inbred hillbillies....but all of these kinda people can be found everywhere as well as good people.

I personally used to catagorize people in those type of narrow windows and stereotypes, but I try not to anymore. Sadly though with all of these TV shows on every topic you can think of they just keep perpetuating these stereotypes.

Moonshiners, Swamp wars, Swamp people, Duck Dynasty, Rocketcity rednecks.....the list goes on and on.
STOP IT TV.

Unfortunately there are often reasons for some stereotypes.
I DO NOT mean to offend the good folks here that are from the beautiful southern states that bring us things the the Blueridge Hiway and Deals Gap....Good stuff and many wonderful people....TV just chooses to focus on the negative aspects.

But I do have to admit, I don't care who ya are, that there is funny.

100% agree. I call it "small pond syndrome". Having travelled for work for decades, it becomes clear, stereotypes are founded on a little truth, then embellished.

I always feel bad for kids in these situations. They will see this life as normal.

This in spite of the fact we kill trees by the thousands every day. The small mill I work in goes through 35,000 trees a week, every week. As you say, the power of the media.

That's one of them "off the shelf" universal fit. Trailer light...!!! Cheap.... had one on a bike back when I had to live in a trailer. But at the right place.

Yep, 'cause daddy the Twinkies-slayer started this trend on his own. Mr. 3-bills WAS that kid your heart bleeds for 20 years ago. He's just not so cute anymore.
