Battery Chargers

My battery died a while back, went into my local KTM shop and they advised the "NOCO Genius G750", which now is installed and works great! It was less expensive then the "Battery Tender" brand and had better features IMHO. Soooo...whats the rest of the world using?

Battery tender on Amazon is 20 bucks with free shipping. I use them on all my ladies. Schumacher is making some pretty cool stuff but the tenders have always served me well. Bought one Yuasa several years ago, it suffered a less than 12 inch fall to garage floor, and came apart..... It still functions fine but was not impressed with the quality.

Aux plug charge

So I read a post where a couple guys were plugging their tender into the dash aux plug instead of taking the battery out to charge. Am I understanding this correctly? I asked my dealer and he says it wont work that way with the key turned off. Whats the deal can you charge through your battery through your aux plug or not?

Aux plug works

Yep - it works for maintaining the battery. I've done it for the past two winters on my 990 with no problems. And yes - the key is off. I've never tried to "charge" the battery this way since i've never had the need to.
