Nice looking Mean Streak BTW, how do you like it?

Its been the best bike I've ever owned. Bought it new in January '08 and almost 20k miles on it, no problems.

Guess I have a think for red and black bikes.

Speaking of which, I'm thinking of painting the Terra...

Maybe Ural camo?

Anyone else paint this bike yet?

Trust me, that Gobi Camo looks even better in person. I tried to convince my wife to get a Gobi Ural, but she insisted on red. When we were looking to adopt a rescued Giant Schnauzer, she decided that she'd prefer to have a black one, because it would look better in her red Ural.

She was right.

I had to sift thru a few until I nailed down the winning combination. The guys at Touratech are pretty good to work with, but a bit tunnel-visioned on this subject. They had a difficult time getting past "what bike is it for" and accepting the notion that I'm not using OEM stock bars. But in the end, we sorted it out together.

Buy the Kaoko Cruise Lock for the BMW HP2......Part # 330-0004

It fits a handlebar with 14mm ID (Pro Taper Evo & many others).

Perfect fit and works like a charm! The lock is quite failsafe and simply screws against the end of your throttle tube as a friction lock. FYI....for those who might not know how it works.

HF

....and they offer it with a red knoby thingy too

[QUOTE=RidingDonkeys;21035990]Strangely, I find this to be the most comfortable factory seat ever.

Yes every arse is different. After about a tankfull - 350km it bites, then it just gets worse. I don't like the lump for when I want to move around, and the way it pushes you forward crunches up your man bits - I no likey.

I am thinking of having my local sign guy do a wrap...there's several choices from 3M. I think a Matt finish might look good...maybe a charcoal or titanium ...there's a bunch of choices. I'd only do the right and left panels. Best thing about a wrap is....completely reversible!

I think wraps are the way to go. I'm good though. Mine is already black.

I am going to be wrapping mine after I get my hoses back from Samco. My GF's sister's BF does car wraps. Everything that is now white will be black...but he wants me to go to his shop and look at the "3D Carbon" they have. He says it looks very realistic and believes I will like it better than just the solid black vinyl.

HF Saddle Bag Rack Mounts.....preliminary round

Slowly but surely….I've collected the materials needed to begin my saddlebag rack fabrication.

Super Kudos to FabOneUp, for kindly making these snazzy steel bushings. They are priceless jewels to me!

This is the solid crossover bridge I made:

And it all goes here…

The bushings on the front tailrack mounts and the bridge on the rear mounts.

More to come…..I need to incubate a while longer.

It does look good. Over rather than under? Or will it be over and under? Inquiring minds need to know.

Ordered some rolls of vinyl. We'll see how it comes out. Good thing about vinyl wrapping is that if you don't like it, you can take it off (as compared to paint).

Also 3 rolls of 12"x48" after shipping was cheaper than spraypaint from the hardware store

Yeah...I could never get paint to properly adhere to plastics, but then again I am a bit rough with my toys.

Plasti-dip

Plasti-dip is another option. Originally brought to market as a tool handle covering...kinda like dipping your pliers in plasti-dip...works pretty good. Lots of info if you google. Easy to repair spots that are damaged or peel up...easy to completely remove. Several colors too. Not really a paint ...but goes on like a paint. Several thin coats.

I like black. I think my TR looks good in black. However, I'm fighting the urge to get stupid. Maybe it is the monotony of this deployment that's encouraging me to make rash decisions.

Suddenly, a camo TR is sounding pretty sweet.

I wonder how hard it is to wrap a Husky?

Found these at PowerSportsWraps.com
