Kermit has been ridden.

What the hell have I created this time.

Holy shit.

I took it for a ride first up the dirt road in front on my place that is wide and sweeping and goes for about 10 klms. No run it, just upped it. it spun the rear in every gear with big gobs of power, low mid and up high and wanted to pull way past 150 in a matter of seconds. The starting prob was fixed today and all I can say is no kick starter needed, Simpson here we come. Junior took it for a ride and when we came back he was shaking his head, as he got closer I could hear him laughing and he said "What a weapon"

Nice ride tomorrow on the windy black top somewhere, maybe taunt some sport bikes down the Putty.
Thanks for you support guys.

Cheers Fogo....

Great looking build mate, and very pleased you didn't have a heart attack. Yep, chest pains, go straight to hospital. Never hesitate with that one. No doubt all the POWER in that KLX will be causing a few heart flutters in the future

Yep I'm with you on that one Dennis. As the cam lobe 'loads & unloads' during it's revolution - the oil can push out past the groove into the running area's that wouldn't normally have recieved much lube.

Of course we could be wrong, but it looks more like a cost cutting exercise during the manufacturing process by Kawasaki to not goove the tunnel in the first place..

Cheers,

Dan.

I've been bad.

I got a few miles under Kermits belt today, This morning I changed the front sprocket from a 14 to a 15 to give him more legs.
I left home at 10 am and stacked Kermit 50 klms from home in one of those concrete slimey causeways and snapped the clutch lever off. Had to turn around and go home and replace it before setting off again.
I was carrying tools and punture gear but no levers, only on a trip.
Anyway I went from Maitland, Upper Rochel, Gundy, Timor, Nundle, Bendemeer, Manila, Tamworth, Scone and home. 650 klms 1/2 dirt.

So anyway, I'm heading up Moonbi range, slightly over the legal speed limit, well a fair bit really. I get to the steep section and hit some traffic and the overtaking lane through the windy section, I take out 5 cars and a caravan, get myself committed into a hard RH corner and lean kermit over to a 45 deg angle and give it to him with the Caravan on my left. Then I see a guy with a blue shirt run across the road 25 metres in front Of us and he pointed something at me. I instantly backed off, Looked to my left and saw a white car in the bush with coloured lights on the roof. As I passed the guy I thought hes got me. Natural reaction, Down a gear and cracked Kermit open to full throttle and he got to hear what a straight through Staintune sounds like. I high tailed it over the Range and "Stage left" Bendemeer and into the maze of dirt roads over to manila.
That was close. Am I bad ?

Cheers Fogo.....
