Shim kit question

do I need the ktm shim kit or will the hot cam kit be the same thing?

oh and I have been looking for a how to do valve adjust but have not found it can any one point me to one. I have been doing my own valve adjustments on my other bike just getting a early start. I do have 200 mile now only 8800 mile till in need to do this.
