Easy, but Scenic Off Road Routes ?

Thanks to all for the great advice and recommendations!!!! Really looking forward to my trip out there. Still doing some research and also considering lengthening the trip to 3 weeks and seeing some of Utah as well. As the time gets closer, I'll post my planned route and would welcome any who would want to join me for any part of it.

Does anyone know of any off-road schools, in Colorado, that might benefit me while I'm out there? I wouldn't mind giving a day or two of my vacation to learning off-road riding techniques.

Neduro would be the best guy for the job but he does classes very rarely. You could PM him and see if you can put one together. He's a great teacher - really has a gift there. Best class on motorcycling I've ever taken.

I'm an MSF instructor with advanced certifications and could give you some pointers as we ride. I am also advanced in age so nothing on the route that I put up is extremely difficult - unless it rains. Then there are good alternate routes to avoid those sections.

Clear lake near Silverton / Ouray - don't hear too much about this one but it is relatively easy, no traffic and every scenic...

Your query has generated a lot of pent up riding interest from many of us out this way in the Rockies.

You do know and fully understand the "Code of Beer Ethics" out west don't you?

Most that have posted here to offer services, advice, route planning, companionship, etc. tend to be a "pretty thirsty " bunch. I do hope that those 3 weeks you took off from work are all "paid vacation". You'll need it riding around with this crowd.

Just giving you a hard time! Glad to hear that you got the 3 weeks off that you wanted. I predict that after 3 weeks out west you'll be saddle sore, road weary, and worn out ....................... or that you'll just send home for your belongings and "call in sick" for the next 20 years!

If you're plated you won't need one in Colorado or Utah. That's only for unplated vehicles like ATV's, snowmobiles and unplated dirt bikes
