2008 R1200 GS Adventure query on lower bolt on crash bar
Having searched and queried the great and glorious google with string "site:http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3 R1200GS AND lower OR cylinder OR crash OR bar" which only gave me 899 results I haven't found what I'm looking for. I've looked through the websites of Touratech, AltRider, and Twisted Throttle for the little gem.
I would like to find the lower bar that installs from the rear of the cylinder and clamps to the bar in front of the cylinder. I don't know what it is called or who produces it. I've seen it in parking lots and in some pictures.
My goal is that I'm trying to increase the protection of the cylinder. While keeping the stock stuff as much as possible.
Sorry my knowledge is limited I've only owned the bike six days. I'm new to the GS but not new to riding on or off road. I don't plan on riding in deep mud, or stumbling up rocky slopes. I already have ridden it in single digit temps (3 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday). I ride in blizzards and snow storms and commute on icy roads. I know that's considered by some to be stupid but I have fun.
Thank you in advance

Are you referring to the Adventure Design crash bar extenders?
A lot of people including myself have them.
I think Wunderlich makes a similar design, but I can certainly vouch for the adv design ones. Plus I think the mount to the front crash bar is more solid than the wunderlich c-clamps
