Which PC680
Batteries Plus lists two versions of the PC680.
One is PC680-P, the other PC680MJ-A. Anyone know the differences in application to my Y2K 1150GS? Cheers! |

The PC680's are all the same . The "MJ" has a metal jacket to deflect heat. It is just glued on sheet metal. You can move the jacket to another 680. The BMW temperature isn't so high that you knead the mj deflector. The "P" version comes with a accessory posts which you do not knead.
Larry, my bad I thought that you had decided to go with a battery to match your Deltran. Not sure why you are still asking about the charger. Use my links then head over to Battey Stuff. The Noco 1100 is on sale for $34 w/coupon. Because it is less than 6 amps it will only maintain, not charger but will get you by. Disconnect the mc ground in storage then no charging required. Battery owners should have a good DVM (not a vet) and know how to monitor OCV. If you want to keep your battery in top shape and have situations where the alternator is not maintaining ocv above 12.84 then buy one of the advanced chargers..The Noco 1100 float is 13.6 and absorbtion is 14.7 The best of the best is the $120 Battery Minder with sweep type de-sulfation. No, you do not knead to dough out for one. In fact, if you are diligent then you can get by with several old school manual chargers and the DVM. On the other hand if you slip up just once and fry a battery there goes what you saved on the charger.

Why not check out Braille, I am using their Lithium battery (G9) in my 1200GSA and it's been great, I also have one of their AGM batteries for my car, I found this thread http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...raille+battery
with a fellow inmate running the B14115 with 904 PCA vs the OEM 200CCA. http://www.braillebattery.com/index....tteries/b14115 For the car battery I ordered, I got it through Newegg, which ended up being a drop shipment from Braille. I am in Gainesville, FL and they make the batteries in Sarasota, FL. When the battery came to me it had a build sheet with it that showed the battery was made 3 days previous to it arriving to me, so I give props to getting a brand new fresh battery that is great.

I have yet to see the glamour of the Odyssey batteries...I have bought the Universal Battery UB12220. More CCA and more amp hours than an Odyssey. And for those that say the Odyssey will last longer, my response is that I can nearly buy 3 of the universal for the cost of 1 Odyssey.

I personally have used the Odyssey pc625 for the last few years.
it fits the 1100gs easily, but I remember now, my ABS box has been removed, so maybe it wont fit if you have abs its stronger than the pc680, and cheaper, more CCA, more reserve, and $20 cheaper. http://www.odysseybattery.com/powerspecs.html I had the ub12220 it wouldnt barely crank the bike over especially when cold, and I hit a bump offroad ( a culvert actually) and it totally died. the pc625 was $72.50 from my local battery store when I bought them ( UI bought 5 of them in 2005 for use in PWCs, they did duty in those for a few years, then I robbed one for my bike after the ub122220 died. it is a far superior battery to a simple SLA EDIT- I had forgotten, I made a post about this swap http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...9&postcount=31
