Big Thanks to F5

Here's a huge thanks to F5 from the Bend, Oregon watch party. I know of only one other guy in this town (BP from Atomic Moto) who is probably up and watching, so there are at least three of us

Also playing with my ancient copy of Excel, anybody want to see a handful of riders compared?

The most positive aspect of today happened yesterday afternoon. We were in our tent, looking up and down the bike when the Honda engineer came, Katsumi Yamazaki, the Japanese who developed the project of HRC team. He began to look at the bike. Aluminum tank?, Asked, in a very funny english very difficult for us to understand. We said yes, we wore an aluminum deposit. And explain the problems we have been having with our Honda since the rally began, problems he already knew. The guy started to look the bike again and again and started to say no. Shook his head and said: "No, no, no. No ". And he began to tell us that the fuel lines were too thin, we should have made them wider.
It was funny. We laughed a lot with the visit of the Japanese. He spent half an hour saying no and shaking his head. Of course, gave us a few tips and, when leaving, Paco, the mechanic told me that all he had said, the ideas that we had, had a lot of sense. So we tested the changes he advised. I do not know if it was pure coincidence, but the bike now has worked perfectly.

hummmm........

Also, if a centrifugal pump is cavitating it's not being cooled by fresh fuel and Voila ... burnout.
Maybe this is just experience talking, (bad experiences rather ) but I think I know exactly what Yamakazi is talking about. It may not have been just out of gas, but not enough. I've worked out one too many issues on fuel with KISS and a 2 penny part. This is the type of issue I think Ned chose to go with a carb last year, No?

Other than the obvious prestige of winning the Dakar, any idea on what the prize money is for the podium finishers?
