RMS was riding along with the Freedom Rally team, they should have plenty of new ones now that Kevin is out.

I bet that would be the spirit of Dakar in the begining. Go Manuel!

A lot of Italians are of similar disposition towards life and living.
I hope his luck holds up to the end.

Vai Mane!

If Deadly99 can get in touch with RMS I'll chip in for the "Mousse for Manuel" cause.

Can we contact someone to help out!
I have invested in my name being on his shirt and I want it to get to Chile!
About as close as I will get to finishing the Dakar!
Tony's name is on there as well but I fear his father may be out of the Africa Race.
Slow clap for Thomas!

Engine change strategy

Now that's the racing's winding down for the day, let's talk engine-change strategy.

Rules are the same as last year: 15-minute penalty for the first change, 45 for the second, 2 hours for the third, and any after that.

But this year, the rest doesn't come until Day 9, and the first half is arguably more punishing to motors than last year's.

Last year, it looks like only four of the top 20 finishers on motos did it on one motor.

What do you think this year's game plan is? Hope it make it to the rest day, and change it earlier if it's gets dodgy? If guys like Cyril still find themselves several minutes behind the leader, will they do what they can to stick with one engine, and avoid the penalty?

Checked his webpage and couldn't find any "donate" links but I don't know if there'd be any way for him to get to the cash quickly anyway. Whatever, if anyone can find a way to get support to him, I'm in.

I suddenly got a feeling that this could be a start of 'F5 online Dakar management team'.

Maybe we should brainstorm a bit about the name, though.

Get in touch with RMS, tell them to give Manuel whatever mousse he needs, and we´ll pay to RMS. Or?
