Something to ponder while we wait for Luis.

Somewhere in ADV-land:

Neduro, Pyndon and Hilslamer raced and finished Baja 1000, Team Double Barrell.

Neduro and Pyndon have now completed Dakar.

Hilslamer next?

Didn't I read some rumor of him being in S.A. Or was it just south..?

Wouldn't that give Husaberg a solid finish

Chaleco, quoted on Dakar's website:

"I had a problem with my gearbox yesterday and had to change my engine. Unfortunately, I was second in the overall classification. But making it to Santiago was more important than chasing an impossible second place. I'm happy because I won yesterday's stage. I went the whole nine yards every single day. With four stage wins under my belt and a podium spot, I'm happy for myself, for everyone, for Chile, for my family, for my wife. Changing the engine was the right decision. If I hadn't, I'd still be on the course. Now, this third place counts more than a second place. Especially after what happened last year and the terrible accident. It's just like winning the Dakar."

Thanks for clearing that up. Good on Lopez. He finally got a well earned place on the podium without the heartbreak stories of the past.

Amazing, following along this year on ADV, the best place to be if you can't be at the Dakar!! Thanks to all of you lovely people that contribute and a massive well done to all the riders who made it to the start, did their best and either did or did not make it to the finish line, 100% effort from them all. Fantastic effort from Cyril once again and to all the brits, ozzies and everyone else that did their best

AND ONWARDS AND UPWARDS TO TEAM HRC

Faria:

"Yesterday I lost second place and I thought that just being on the podium was great for me, Cyril Despres' lieutenant. It could never happen, it's inconceivable. Chaleco changed his engine, so I thought there were few kilometres left and I was going to defend my place. I fell within the last ten kilometres as I was riding in Pozzolito's dust. Nothing serious. I'm over the moon."

He is in New Zealand right now, but no reason he couldn't start practice there, fantastic place to ride.

You know we love you, but it's extra awesome to get some acknowledgment from RG/Planet Robby/Speed Energy.

I just like RG and his organization more and more!

Also, he was very gracious in praising Peterhansel after Stage 13.

So am I correct assuming CDP won on an engine that lasted the whole event?

His engine swap was from another bike and not new one and that engine was able to win some of the longest stages

or was he allowed to replace the replacement engine?
