But this year, the rest doesn't come until Day 9, and the first half is arguably more punishing to motors than last year's.

What do you think this year's game plan is? Hope it make it to the rest day, and change it earlier if it's gets dodgy? If guys like Cyril still find themselves several minutes behind the leader, will they do what they can to stick with one engine, and avoid the penalty?

Rekluse auto-clutches are getting very popular in racing especially the newer EXP version. Seen a few so far on Dakar bikes, it definitely reduces rider workload in tough terrain. I love mine on my Berg FE390.
