So, Andrew Scot did not show up on the timing today, but seemed to have arrived... am I correct?

Which timing link? The one on the Dakar page doesn't show him for some reason. Unless I have gone blind.

you have to mark his name on the starting list (#181, started 160th), and then his number comes up above the ASS symbol on the profile map

That's what I see on monitor.trackingdakar.nl ... however, like you I do not find him on dakar.com live timing and even on the monitor site there's no listing at CP1. Looking at the whole list, there are other riders showing no times at WPs but Scott is the only one with no time listed at CP1.
