I'm not sure how to quantify it, but my sense is that the mid pack is very strong this year. I think the standard deviations around the median rider are closer in skill than in years past, probably due to the selectivity the ASO are practicing in choosing entries.

At wp 1 Fish was 5 mins down and Barreda 3 ( same at 2 also) - it looks tough back there
