I just checked out tomorrows route and I have to hand it to David Castera - Assistance vehicles will be miles from the bikes until they get to the bivouac. So there will be no opportunity for the factory team assistance crap we saw in the neutralisation section yesterday. I guess that is why they let it pass. And tomorrow is a LOOOONNG 471km special with a 228km liaison (not shared by the assistance route). Its going to separate the men from the boys BIG time.

Of course it also means we will ikely get less news tonight as well, form the riders themselves that is.

Verhoeven was with Despres at wp3, and physically pulled 2'23" on him by wp4. Bad news.

Faria is in the ASS, as well.

I guess they figured out why Chaleco's bike was down on power at the finish yesterday!

Ok, so maybe his strategy, being that tomorrow is a slog fest, is to let the young guys try and break their bikes today, at least wear them out for the real haul tomorrow.

He's preserving his bike? Protect the bike is a very shrewd move...

Remember the tire issues from a few years ago on the really long stages?

Hard surface in the early stage tomorrow, followed by some terrain that you'd damn well better have some knobs left for.

With the "young guns" running hell for leather, it could be a long play by Cyril, betting that even the WC's from the other teams will have chewed their tires too far.

Seems too far off the pace to be reasonable for me, but I guess tomorrow will tell.

True that, it looks like CdP is set to lose anywhere between 14-17 minutes today. Ouch
