If you are recording it will do that a lot, but VLC is AWESOME. When you go to watch the recorded file later it will magically play ok, complete with all the bits you didn't see because you were looking at Patronelli.
I love VLC now. It's my new favourite.
I'm hoping to convince my girlfriend to have a threesome with me and VLC.

No not recording but might give it a try, espeially for France 2,3 & 4, they buffer just as badly....

30 seconds viewing.... wait 1 minute... 15 seconds viewing..... wait one minute...... 5 seconds viewing.... give up!!!

Sadly I have a lousy connection, 0.5 mbps is a good day!

I have a mobile dongle that will give me up to 7.2 mbps but I blew through my download limit for the month on stage 7.

The strange thing is the dongle is now restricted until the end of the month so although I can get on here OK, I can't view video for instance or any other high download stuff but Eurosport player still works fine .

I'm no expert but I presume this is because it is streaming, where VLC is attempting to download?

I'm currently running one lap top on the mobile dongle and one hard wired through a router but VLC is just as bad on both

Rest day my arse - its taken me all sodding day on and off to catch up since yesterday evening. My fault for going out on the piss last night

CD says they've done 2000km of specials and have 2300km to run - shit das bed they're not even halfway!! Who knows what will happen, this week has had allsorts thrown at it

Great RRadio interview with Lyndon and so chuffed Manuel has his problems sorted - dude needs to get some spannering lessons

And David Casteu still hasnt stopped smiling like this he's my new favourite at the top. His attitude seems spot on, very similar to Giniel

Too soon for Yamaha to start thinking about dusting off the 98 trophy to photo the 13 trophy next to?

See y'all in the morning - cant effing wait!!

Nah, VLC is streaming as well. The Eurosport Player feed might be VBR (Variable BitRate) which will give you a lower quality feed if it senses that it stalls a lot. The URL we use with VLC is not such a feed and it's actually consuming a steady 2 Mbps (megaBIT per second).

Is there a way to stream http://mypremium.tv/ through the VLC?

I tried but was unsuccessful...looks like the 2300 GMT schedule will play Dakar.

Tonights ES coverage was lousy in my opinion. As someone mentioned earlier - they've got all day to walk around with journalists and do interviews, but ES doesn't have a staffing on the ground.

FranceTV - they've got the whole shebang on the ground, but nothing from them either tonight. =((

Thanks, that most probably explains it.

Although as my knowlege of computers is slightly less than Manuel's knowledge of TM engines, this is all a bit over my head

Probably. It's a regular flash player and it's just a question of sniffing the network when the player loads to get the video URL.

Well thats interesting because this is what one of my contacts facebooked:

CB1 is heading for breakfast and then the filling station where there is Wifi, so hopefully we'll get to chat to them 'live' here later. ASO don't have this yet on the website, but I am reliably informed that Casselli switched his gps off during liason because of a buzzing sound and was penalised.
