So has CD's penalty been revoked? I can still see it in the trackingstandings

Exactly why have an Engine change penalty in the first place when you got a built in loophole ?

Dakar doesn't do the moving map tracking like some of the other rallies do.

You can follow timing at dakar.com, but really, the best place is at inmate Misc's site, http://trackingdakar.nl -- it compile everything into a tidy spreadsheet for you.

Despres' motor penalty does seem to be gone from the sheets, but rest assured, it will return. Seems there's some weird stuff going on with penalties coming and going. My guess is it's just a database error on the dakar site and will get corrected at some point.

Yup I know. But after working 60hr weeks for the last 2 years I get to hangout with my 6 year old son and follow the Dakar!!!

Hard way to get a vacation, but I'll take it.
