I know it's already been posted but there was a great rest day update from Dave on RallyRaidio (for anyone who missed it). Fingers crossed something can be sorted for Luis.

2012 - 7 stages prior to Rest day
1. Despres 18:12:38
2. Coma + 07:48
3. Rodrigues + 49:39
...
10. Pedrero Garcia + 1:23:48
The first from Top 10 to change engine was Pedrero Garcia (stage 5 already), then Zanol (stage 8), Despres, Coma and Ullevalseter (stage 9), Rodrigues, Pain, Faria (stage 10), Villadoms, Farres Guell, Botturi (stage 11).
Svitko on 5th was the only one in Top 10 with the single engine, then Czachor on 13th place.
Gaps between Despres and Coma to other riders were big enough and engine change was part of the plan.

2013 - 8 stages prior to Rest day
1. Casteu 19:56:33
2. Despres + 09:26
3. Faria + 11:16
...
10. Pizzolito + 34:55
This year the competition is tighter and tenth Pizzolito was only 34:55 behind Casteu. The first 20 riders were within the same time variation as first 10 year before.
Botturi, Rodrigues and Despres were forced to change engine due to technical reasons. All the others stay with the first one for now.
It seems nobody wanna lose a good position with a 15-min penalty when gaps are so small.

I just listened to the Dave/RMS call-in again and he also said they had a handful of pistons on hand. So there is still hope if all he needs is a piston right now.

This is just me trying to decipher what little information I'm provided.

I do update our Freedom Rally facebook page as I get anything in from the team.
And I for one really appreciate every scrap of info. I'm not ready to give up on my favorite perennial underdog!
GO LUIS!!!

Thanks for the research. This year is the tightest race I can remember for many years. Just hope that some riders decision to continue with their original engine doesn't backfire. We shall see

Ok! Backmarker trying to catch up but this is what I expected... Cyril showing his rear wheel to everyone and people only seeing his dust from a distance. I'm 40 pages back so a lot can happen before the end.

I would expect Cyril to take 15 minutes out at the minimum because of his experience in winning and not worrying about preserving his engine.

Can't wait to see how the day ends! Luckily... like many here... no worries about someone letting it slip.

So, does anyone know how this snooker thing works? If so - would you be able to give an estimate as to how long this is going to take?

I've got absolutely no idea what so ever on how to read the scoring...
