I would think the smart money is on the "alien" who has been sitting back biding his time... until he found out the game plan was not for everyone to switch engines. Then he went into the next gear... with I believe at least one more gear remaining.

Sorry to those who were vying to unseat the king. They thought they had a chance to take the crown since there was only one, which they did. They still do but they may need a Cheshire Cow or Llama to help, like the one that Casteau encountered.

Hope the heart of Dakar are able to keep they babies purring to make it through the last few days. So close... yet so far.

Not in the bag, but going to plan for them at this point, I'd imagine.

We've already seen him make navigational errors and have mechanical trouble so we know that he is not immune...... He is looking very good but I think he'll have to fight this one out to the end, unless all his close competitors suffer bad luck and he doesn't. Skill seems to help promote good luck though, we'll see.

It's been a lot of fun to watch so far this year.
